Surface treatment process

 

Surface treatment process is a process method to artificially form a surface layer on the surface of the base material with mechanical, physical and chemical properties different from the base material. Its purpose is to meet the corrosion resistance, wear resistance, decoration or other special functional requirements of the product. Common surface treatment processes are.

Mechanical grinding:
Use tools such as scrapers, wire brushes or grinding wheels to remove rust, scale and other impurities on the surface of the workpiece.
The characteristics are high labor intensity and low production efficiency, but the cleaning is more thorough.

Chemical treatment:
Use acidic or alkaline solutions to react chemically with oxides and oil stains on the surface of the workpiece to achieve the purpose of cleaning. Suitable for cleaning thin plates.
It should be noted that if the time is not properly controlled, even if corrosion inhibitors are added, it may cause damage to the workpiece.

Micro-arc oxidation (micro-plasma oxidation):
Through the combination of electrolyte and corresponding electrical parameters, a ceramic film layer mainly composed of base metal oxides is grown on the surface of aluminum, magnesium, titanium and their alloys by relying on the instantaneous high temperature and high pressure generated by arc discharge.
The characteristics are that the generated ceramic film layer has excellent corrosion resistance, wear resistance and decorative properties.

Metal wire drawing:
A surface treatment method that forms lines on the surface of the workpiece by grinding the product to achieve a decorative effect. It is often used for decorative treatment of metal products.

Shot peening:
A cold processing process that uses pellets to bombard the surface of the workpiece and implant residual compressive stress to improve the fatigue strength of the workpiece.
The characteristic is that it can improve the fatigue strength of the workpiece.

Sandblasting:
The process of cleaning and roughening the surface of the substrate by the impact of high-speed sand flow. It can make the surface of the workpiece produce a specific roughness or shape.

Laser cleaning:
A high-energy pulsed laser beam is used to irradiate the surface of the workpiece, so that the dirt, particles or coating on the surface evaporate or expand and peel off instantly to achieve a clean process.
The characteristics are comprehensive functions, precise and flexible processing, high efficiency and energy saving, green and environmental protection, and no damage to the substrate.

Laser quenching:
Using high-energy laser as a heat source, the metal surface is quickly heated and cooled, and the quenching process is completed instantly.
The characteristics are small heat-affected zone, small deformation, high degree of automation, and high hardness of refined grains.
