Types of stamping

 

Stamping is an important metal processing method, which mainly uses pressure equipment such as punching machines to force materials to deform or separate, so as to obtain product parts that meet actual requirements. The stamping process can be mainly divided into two categories: separation process and forming process. The purpose of the separation process is to partially or completely separate the material along a certain contour, while the forming process is to make the material plastically deform without destroying its integrity.

  • Cutting: A stamping process that partially but not completely separates the material along the open contour.
  • Trimming: Use the die to trim the edge of the forming process part to give it a certain diameter, height or shape.
  • Flaring: Expand the open part of the hollow part or tubular part outward.
  • Punching: Separate the waste from the material or process part along the closed contour to obtain the required hole on the material or process part.
  • Notching: Separate the waste from the material or process part along the open contour, the open contour is in the shape of a groove, and its depth exceeds the width.
  • Embossing: Forcing the local surface of the material to be pressed into the mold cavity to create a concave and convex pattern.
  • In addition, according to the different degree of process combination, our company's stamping dies can also be divided into four categories: single-process dies, compound dies, progressive dies and transfer dies. Each die has its specific application scenarios and advantages. For example, a single-process die has only one stamping process in the stroke of a stamped part, while a compound die can complete two or more stamping processes on the same punch press at the same time.
  • The above are only some basic types of stamping. The actual stamping process will be adjusted according to specific product requirements, material types, processing equipment and other factors.
